Yesterday, a young Syrian girl from Deir Ezzor named Halla Mohamed al-Hussein was shot dead in cold blood by Turkish Gendarme as she was attempting to cross from Turkey into Syria illegally. The young girl is originally from the town of Albu Omar in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor.

Her relatives have indicated that they are still unable to recover her body, which has been left in an area close to the Turkish-Syrian border for two days now, for fear of being targeted by Turkish sniper gunfire.

It should be pointed out that this is event is not the first of its kind as numerous civilians and families from Deir Ezzor have been killed so far either by IEDs planted by Daesh in northern Aleppo or by the Turkish Gendarme near Turkey’s border with Syria. All of these victims were killed while fleeing the war in Syria and heading towards Turkey.
