Iran continues to execute its sectarian plans in Syria, which includes the conversion of Sunni civilians to Shites, through the maintaining of its authority in areas abandoned by Assad’s forces and civilians or those it has captured from Daesh.
A recent circulated footage on social media showed an Assad delegation to Iran consisting of approximately 50 persons from Deir Ezzor, including Mohamed Al Fatih (a member of the Baath Party), Ahmed A lAli ( a member of the Cultural Center in Deir Ezzor), Adi Saleh, Jamal Al Safi from Al Bukamal and Jamal Alush.
It seems that the aim of the visit is to thank Iran ‘for its efforts and role in Syria’ and to discuss some services issues that are currently needed in the region.
Iran has been sending food aid since its militias captured large swaths of land in Deir Ezzor province, which is described by some activists as a means to win the heart of the local populations amidst their deteriorating economic and living conditions.
The Iranian militias also opened centers in Deir Ezzor, al Mayadeen, and Al Bukamal to register and the names of civilians whose houses are currently damaged so that it can reconstruct them.
