The American envoy William Roebuck and several coalition commanders recently visited many SDF-held areas in the northern and eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor in order to discuss the social and services conditions in the liberated areas. They started their visit by meeting with the members of the Deir Ezzor Civil Council in its office in the Kassra area, the western countryside. In the meeting, the joint head of the council, Ghassan Al Youssef, spoke to the delegation about the importance of the strategy in the liberated areas.
The American envoy also visited the Bassira area, the eastern countryside, and met with tribal leaders and dignitaries as well as the heads of the local councils in the area. William received many questions from the leaders and discussed with them the difficulties and obstacles which the liberated areas are experiencing.
William Roebuck spoke to the media by saying ‘ the coalition forces will stay in the eastern Euphrates areas until Daesh is obliterated’
Concerning the presence of Iran in Syria, he said that ‘ we want you to trust the fact that we will definitely end Iran presence in Syria and that we are now trying to implement Geneva agreements on the ground.’
