In the last two days, Assad’s forces and security branches in Deir Ezzor have launched a campaign of arrests against dozens of young men inside Deir Ezzor city for the purpose of forced conscription, according to Deir Ezzor 24 network correspondent.

Elements of Assad’s forces’ checkpoints, security branches, and mobile patrols, roamed most of Deir Ezzor city’s streets, public departments, bus stations, schools and universities, in search of those wanted for compulsory service, the correspondent said.

A large number of high school students, especially those who applied to the high school exams independently, could not complete their examination because of the recent campaign, the correspondent added.

It is worth mentioning that the arrests have affected even those who are not wanted for the compulsory service, to blackmail their families to get money for releasing them.
