Does The Coalition Distinguish Between civilians and combatants in Deir Ezzor ?

The coalition have intensified their airstrikes against Daesh-held pocket in the eastern Deir Ezzor countryside. The strikes coincides with significant advances by Daesh against SDF in the area, as they have recaptured several areas.

planes targeted the military points and even the civilian areas where the organization was encircled using civilians as human shields. The organization controls the towns of Hinin, Sousse and Babuz, holding civilians and preventing them from leaving. A line of protection in front of the fire strikes of the enemies.

The coalition raids did not differentiate between civilians and Daesh. The result was many civilian massacres, the most recent of which was on Thursday 15 November 2018 at 5:30 am when a coalition strike hit  the Bubadran district  in the town of Al-Sussah in the eastern suburb of Deir Ezzor. 18 civilians from one family were killed, including 14 children and 3 women.

This massacre was not the only one committed by coalition aircraft. It was preceded by several massacres where the number of casualties varied, while the victims were civilians. The International
