The phenomenon of child begging has spread in the areas controlled by the Assad’s forces in Deir Ezzor city, east of Syria, especially in Al-Joura and Al-Qosour neighborhoods.
According to Deir Ezzor 24 reporter, children are scattered in the city streets begging and getting their living.
This phenomenon increased with the control of Assad’s forces over the entire city of Deir Ezzor, as merchants and some of the militia leaders of the Assad’s forces began sending children to the eastern neighbourhoods of Deir Ezzor city to collect copper, wires and household items.
The biggest problem, however, is the children’s addiction to sniffing glue, which has spread widely among children throughout Syria, and Deir Ezzor in particular, as children beg and collect money to buy the glue.
According to our reporter, child beggars gather near the garden of Al-Tawba Mosque, as well as Sahara Club and Al-Thawra boys School in Al-Sijin street in Deir Ezzor City.
And the increase of this phenomenon in Deir Ezzor comes with the blessing of the Assad regime’s intelligence services, as there are no laws or deterrents for children, and in fact the glue sniffing takes place in front of the Assad’s forces in the city.
