Today, WFP airdropped a large amount of food shipments over the besieged areas of Deir Ezzor as a part of its strong efforts to alleviate the suffering of the trapped civilians.
The UN World Food Programmes’s Logistics posted to their official account on Twitter an update on the airdrops on Deir Ezzor, stating that they have conducted 113 flights, 2,060 mt dropped and 2.930+ pallets have been distributed to110.00 civilians trapped in besieged Deir Ezzor.
Representative and Country Director of WFP, Jakob Kern, said today that , “High altitude air drops of WFP food to Deir Ezzor still going strong. 113 flights. In teamwork with SARC.”
SARC collected the shipments and distributed some of them to the civilians in the besieged neighborhoods.
