Assad and Iran’s men in Deir Ezzor (2)
Jamil Muhammad al-Shallal, also known as “Jamil al-Suda”, is one of the Assad regime’s men in Deir Ezzor, who has been serving the Assad regime and its security branches for a long time.
Al-Shallal started as a volunteer in the Assad’s forces and worked directly for officer “Mohsen Afifa”, one of the State Security Branch leaders, as an informer until the beginning of the Syrian revolution in 2011.
With the start of the Syrian revolution, al-Shallal’s activities increased, and began to pursue protesters and activists of Deir Ezzor, reporting them to the State Security Branch.
After Daesh took control of Deir Ezzor, “Jamil” was given a special mission by the Assad regime, where he joined Daesh after doing some acting, and held a security position in the organization, calling himself “Abu Qatada al-Ansari”. He used his position in the terrorist organization to pursue the Free Army’s elements, where he was the reason that a large number of them were arrested and killed by Daesh, he also blackmailed civilians to get money, taking advantage of his position and connections within Daesh.
He performed his mission to the fullest, but after the Syrian democratic forces (SDF) took control of the western Euphrates, and the Assad’s forces and their militias took control of (the eastern Euphrates) in Deir Ezzor, and the organization withdrew from most areas, “al-Shallal” returned to the Assad regime, to become responsible for reconciliations in Khasham town, the head of the popular committees and one of those involved in recruiting volunteers for the Iranian militias.
