The SDF killed a civilian in Al-Safira Tahtani town in the western Deir Ezzor countryside, on the pretext that he had smuggled oil from their areas to the areas controlled by Assad regime in the West Bank of the Euphrates River, following which the SDF were on high-alert in Muheimidah and Safira Tahtani in the western Deir Ezzor countryside for fear of any clash with people.
The killing of civilian caused popular resentment and outrage in the western Deir Ezzor countryside, and the people demanded that the one who killed the civilian be held accountable.
The SDF continue to transport oil from their areas of control to the Assad regime’s in the west of the Euphrates through representatives from Al-Qaterji company, which acts as an intermediary between the SDF and the Assad regime.
Oil smuggling is carried out under the SDF supervision, as the oil is transported through pipelines across the Euphrates River to the areas controlled by the Assad regime.
The United States confirmed that the SDF have been transporting oil to the Assad regime and Iran, and this was confirmed by the US president Donald Trump.
