Tension And Outrage In The North Of Deir Ezzor Due To The Killing Of A Civilian By A SDF Fighter

Some days ago, a SDF fighter opened fire on the civilian ‘Abdullah Hamid Suweidan’ in the Sijr village north of Deir Ezz, leading to his immediate death.

According to local sources, the fighter shot the civilian dead on the order of the commander of his patrol ‘Abu Layla’, who is also in charge of protecting Sayad oil well in the same village.

The incident has sparked outrage in the village, as some local civilians attempted to expel some SDF fighters from their village as long as they have not held the perpetrator accountable.

SDF have been carrying out human rights violations in the northern Deir Ezzor countryside, mainly the so called ‘Self-Defense Units’ who are stationed near the oil fields and wells in the region
