Two days ago, in Suweidan Jazeera town in the eastern Deir Ezzor countryside, Ammash Bashir al-Ajaj was killed by unidentified assailants believed to be Daesh elements, according to a relative of the victim.

The youth, who preferred not to be named, said that Ammash is an old man, a local public figure, works in the field of humanitarian relief and does not belong to any organization or party.

He added:

“The method of the killing is similar to those carried out by Daesh cells in the area, where Ammash’s house was attacked at 1 p.m. on Thursday 30-5-2019 by four armed masked men who were riding two motorcycles, and after killing Ammash, they burned his car and escaped.”

It is noteworthy that Daesh cells are very active in the towns of Suweidan Jazeera and Darnaj and the neighboring villages, where more than 20 assassinations have been recorded in the area over the past two months.
