The US-led coalition air strikes on Al-Thurdah Mountain on Saturday killed a large number of Assad forces

ttttUS-led coalition warplanes conducted air strikes on Saturday targeting military positions in Al-Thurdah Mountain, which overlooks the Deir Ezzor military airport, killing at least sixty Assad’s forces and wounding several others in what is believed to have been caused by a wrong coordinates of targets in that area.

The US Central Command statement said “Syria is a complex situation with various military forces and militias in close proximity, but coalition forces would not intentionally strike a known Syrian military unit. The coalition will review this strike and the circumstances surrounding it to see if any lessons can be learned.”

The statement mentioned that warplanes of the coalition halted their air raids when coalition officials were informed by Russian officials that it was possible the targets were Assad’s forces and not Daesh.
